Ed Rogers attended the University of Minnesota and was a member of the Gopher football team in 1903. He received his law degree and was the first Native American to be elected to a public office. He was Cass County Attorney from 1912-28 and from 1932-62. He was inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame in 1968 and to the American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame in 1973.
