The first buildings were erected at Old Agency in 1866. A new Agency was built in 1898 across the bay and was named Onigum. This book relates the history of the agency from 1865-1922 when it was moved to Cass Lake. Included are maps and stories of the native families whose lives were changed with the placement of the agency in their midst. It describes the boarding school, hospital, sanatorium, traditional events, and includes an extensive section of family histories. The community of Onigum continues to the present day. Life in the public school, the success of the Nighthawks teams, powwows, and the continuation of seasonal activities are also covered in this book. 260 pp. 200+ photos. Perfect Bound, Soft Cover.
